Welcome to my website. It's very bare right now, being that I have very little to show for myself as a writer (so far). I am working on a lot of stories, some long and some short (and some very short). I think I would like to classify myself as a speculative fiction writer because I like to set my stories in the future and I don't want to be called sci-fi (because that would mean I'd be in the company of crap like Anne McCaffrey and most books published by Baens). Sorry to be so blunt, I understand some people enjoy cookie cutter fiction. If I did, I would just read the same book over and over again... saves money.
Currently, I work as a sheet metal worker in New York (not my favorite job). I've worked many jobs in the past, from Rolex salesman to window cleaner. I also run a photography studio out of my apartment with my wife Gabby (www.onyxstudios.net).
I pride myself in the fact that I've never attended university... why? because there is nothing you can learn there if you read a lot and keep yourself in intelligent company, and I didn't want to be $100,000 in debt either. Instead, I moved strait to Dublin, Ireland after high school (all by my lonesome with two hundred dollars in my pocket). After a year I moved back to NY, got married (she's English, not Irish), and began writing (again). My goal is to become a full-time photographer and writer by age 25 (thats four years from now). I would also like to win a few Hugos and Nebulas while I'm at it... maybe my hopes are too high, maybe I seem a bit naive... Oh well, who the hell cares? Not me.
